CommUNITY:Voices towards Equity West Hartford Listens

Contributed 66 portraits for this multi media collaboration

We All Have a Story to Tell: Inspiring Equity Through Community Conversations is a public exhibit opening at the West Hartford Town Hall.  The We All Have a Story to Tell Exhibit will showcase the stories of a diverse, cross-section of community members who are inspiring equity in West Hartford. Through a narrative strategy of storytelling, this project vividly captures how these individuals and groups work hard to disrupt social injustices and create positive social change. Visitors to the exhibit can enhance their experience by downloading the free ‘Live Portrait’ application to see and hear the gallery images come alive.  A companion book of the still and interactive portraits will also be available for guests to purchase.

Projects pre 2015 in New York:

Beautiful People

For three years I volunteered for Beautiful People of Orange County, NY a division of the Miracle League. I  spent my spring Sundays at the ball field photographing this organization, which provides adaptive sports for children with disabilities. I also sponsored a team..so fun!

A Smile to Remember

A Photographic Fundraising event, honoring the memory of Lynne Morris, designed by Jamie Kaminski. Mini portraits sessions were held yearly, with donations applied to the Lynne Morris Scholarship fund.

Lynne was a fellow classmate and dear friend from MW’s class of 96. She was a dynamic individual, who had a spark and zest for life. While she perished on 9/11, her wide smile is forever engraved in the hearts of those that hold her memory so dear. The Lynne Morris Scholarship fund is granted to a standout MW grad, honoring her accomplishments professionally and personally. The Morris family grants the scholarship.
